In 2011, founders of 58ten reached out to me in need of a logo for a non-profit they were starting. Little did I know how much that moment would change my life forever. The logo project turned into many more projects, and a way I chose to volunteer my skills to be a part of the organization.
I have been able to develop their entire visual brand, as well as work on countless projects from event collateral, postcards, website, t-shirts, one-off program logos, and more. Below are just a few examples of that work.
Creative Director and Designer
For a few years, 58ten held an annual 5k to raise awareness for the organization as well as funds for different improvement projects at the children's home. I was on the planning team and helped develop the marketing strategy and collateral around the event, as well as manage the budget for those items.
58ten was founded with the purpose of reopening a children’s home/orphanage in Mulango, Kenya. Since then they have taken over the responsibility of a baby home in a neighboring town. People can sponsor a specific child in the Mulango home and build a relationship with them.
In 2013 my wife and I had the opportunity to go and visit the homes with 58ten. We were able to surprise Joseph (below), the boy we sponsor and build a closer relationship with him. It's been awesome seeing Joseph grow up and he's currently attending university in Kenya. Also, I have to mention that in the photo below he did indeed fistbump the monkey.
